George este unul dintre milioanele de copii ai Romaniei, care au crescut si cresc in medii unde violentele fizice, verbale si emotionale fac parte din rutina zilnica a familiei. Desi vremurile tulburi au ramas in urma, iar George este acum tatal a doua fetite, a decis ca experienta lui si a mamei lui sa fie transformata in ceva valororos. Sa devina pilonul unei campanii cu scop educativ, fiindca este inca nevoie in societatea romaneasca. Urmeaza si un film, pentru care George lucreaza deja la scenariu.
My name is George Burcea. I'm an actor at the National Theatre of Bucharest, an independent producer, and a member of the newly founded Goldstone Association. I've decided to write a novel based on my mother's life story. Why? 'Cause it's painful. And shocking. And many women will find themselves in it. My mother's life wasn't a fairy tale. Not at all. Some might think it was a living hell. What makes this story so special is that she never gave up and fought for herself and for her children. And that makes her a hero. Through Goldstone Association, I've launched a fundraiser to finance this project. Our goal is to turn the novel into a feature film. I strongly believe this project will play an important part in changing everyone's perception about the domestic violence. Moreover, we wanna help the victims start a new life. Along with these 2 projects, we're preparing to launch several other campaigns to raise awareness about domestic violence and fight against it. Thank you and wish you all the best!
